Tarot Card Readings

My new favorite thing to do other than fall asleep to clair de lune is read tarot cards that my amazingly beautiful and happy friend Anne gave to me. They help me relax and be peaceful. Love it!!! My tarot card "power animal" today was the turtle. (Thats a good thing) and my tarot card "saying" was all is well!

Homework.... ugh

I have way to much homework for it only being the first week of school. Too much math, and a ton of English homework. Especially the math though. I love the kid who writes all the answers in the textbooks. It makes doing my math homework soooooo much easier. As for English, I have to say, my dad's an expert. He's like an English teacher himself, so I get pretty good grades after he's done editing them. There's nothing much I can do about the work load Mr. Hovinen gives out though. Just have to get it done and then have it edited by my dad.

I start school today....

OH NO!!! Summer is actually over. I am now officially an eighth grader! OMG! What am I going to do? School starts today! Well for me anyways. Poor Ben, Madeline, Melany and the rest of my 7th grade friends. They started Friday 20th. Well hay! I did that last year. Its part of being one of them sevies I guess. "Sevies" :D hahaha! This year is going to be so much fun! Even for school... its gonna be fun!

Can't believe it...

I can't believe summer will be officially over in two days. I'll be going to school in two days!!!! Crazy, crazy, crazy!!! My freedom gone, and the homework begins..... ONLY TWO MORE DAYS LEFT!!!! :( goodbye summer, and sleeping in late, and blogging, and hot summer days and getting on facebook every 20 minutes. Hello homework, and getting up early, and homework, and demanding teachers, and homework, and books, and homework, and lockers, and more homework........

Another one.....?

Today we had ANOTHER barbeque!!!! They told me that my dad had amazing grilling skills. I gave them "that look" and told him that he had done this same thing 3 times now, and that he wasn't that good at the beginning. They just laughed at me... :) Today we also tried on our sarees that we will be wearing for Indar's sister's wedding in Trinidad and Tobago. I am very proud of my choice. I will post pictures when I don't look goofy in them.... :)

Garage Sale

Yesterday we started our community grarage sale that almost the whole complex participates in. We have signs everywhere, and even advertisement on Craig's List and I think it was even in the Denver Post. It got up to about 95 degrees yesterday!!! It was roasting! Then today, it wasn't as busy, or as hot. We could have made a ton selling lemonade!!!! Anyways, we have made over $100 selling stuffed animals, a little bit of furniture, clothes, blankets, and other little random trinkets. It was tons of fun, and even I made some money selling some of my stuff. There are under 20 kids that and younger than 18 in the whole complex, so the little kid things didn't sell as good as we thought it would. We will also be selling some stuff tomorrow, and then whatever junk that is left (aside from the good condition thinds that we will be selling on ebay or Craig's List) we will just be donating to Goodwill (DI).
It actually feels like SUMMER!!!!!

School Is Out!!!!!

Memorial Weekend spent partying. Sounds good to me...

I just had 2 BBQ's back-to-back. On Saturday we got up and (deep) cleaned the house until about 12:45. Then we started cooking for the barbecue until 1:00, when my friend leah and her family arrived, and then my friend anya and her mom arrived. We talked, ate banana bread, butterscotch cookies, salmon burgers, etc until it was time to go swimming. After we swam and took pictures for a while, everyone went home. Then on Sunday (today) my neighbor, judy, and her husband came over, along with my good friend Anne, her husband and her son Zack that goes to my little brothers' school. We mostly did the same thing. Cooked more salmon burgers, cooked the rest of the butterscotch cookies, pulled more banana bread out of the fridge and partied even longer before going to the pool. It seemed like we were at the pool a lot longer then we had been yesterday. I think that the party was a lot more fun the second time then it was the first. Wow, this weekend is flying by. I only have 1/2 a day of school left. already feels like summer. Can't wait!

SUMMER!

I'm out of school this next wednesday! I'm so excited! I LOVE SUMMER!!! Sleeping in, staying up late, free schedules, no school, no homeowkr, no teachers, tons of vacations, watching stars, rain and being underwater!!! I can't wait. Its gonna be a blast!

Spring Break

I loved this years Academy Awards! They were awesome. I liked Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner together. They looked cute together, and really cordinated. Gabourey Sidibe looked glamorous. Underdogs

The underdogs (Saints) won the superbowl! Not what I was expecting, but thats fine. I'm glad for them. They deserved it. NICE JOB SAINTS!!!

I'm so excited for the superbowl! I'm rooting the colts to win, but the underdogs (Saints) might win too. Who knows? I'll be finding out soon...

Friendships

I don't think I could live without my friends. Even after one friend gets in a major fight with me, its hard. But losing all my friends would be a complete disaster. Everyone needs a friend. Someone they can talk to, play with, and lean on in times of sadness. People need a shoulder to cry on. When I am going through hard times, I always have at least (A) friend that I can talk to. They can help you feel a lot better too. I'm so glad so glad to have all my family and friends around me. Think about it, aren't you?!

I'm going back to school today. Ugh! I was liking winter break. The bright side is, we still have spring break left! Can't wait for that....  =)

The Last Day of Winter Break

I think I spent the last day of winter break quite wisely. Anya, Leah and I all went over to Anya's house, chatted a little, and then left to Bath & Body Works at Belmar. I got this amazing set of Warm Vanilla Sugar scented body lotion, hand sanitizer, hand cream and shower gel. Yum yum! After Bath & Body Works, we headed to Aeropostale, and I got this super bright white jacket. It fits well and looks great! Once we were done shopping there, we went ice skating. It was so much fun! It has been forever since I ice skated with real bladed figure skates. I have gone rollerblading, which is quite like ice skating, so I didn't feel to pathetic. I fell once, and man that ice is hard! After that hour of ice skating, we went to Jamba Juice. I spent a total of $34.48 out of the $35 I brought. ($9.74 from Bath & Body Works - $14.04 from Areopostale - $6.00 from ice skating - $4.70 at Jamba Juice)

Christmas Eve

It's Christmas Eve! I just opened sibling presents with, guess who, my brothers!!! It was so much fun to watch their faces as they opened them up. I got a pack of NEW MOON trading cards, skittle flavored chapstick, and a Hershey's bar. YUM!!! I can't wait for tomorrow. It is going to be so much fun!!!!

No wonder they are hurting so bad. My teeth are practically straight!!!! OUCH!!!!!

Ouch!

As the doctor said, my braces are hurting today. I have to admit, I didn't think they would hurt THIS bad. Ouch, ouch, ouch, ouch!!! Yikes!

I GOT METAL BRACES!!

I got my top braces and spacers today!!! They aren't hurting right now, but I hear they will hurt tomorrow and the day after that too. I'm not looking forward to that, but eventually I'll get straight teeth, and it will all be worth it. As for the colors, I got red and green for Christmas spirit.

Tennesee Visitors

 We just had some Tennesee visitors come and stay over at our house. If you haven't guessed them already, it was ... Craig and Lorinda! They brought their whole family, and we just rocked the night away! It was so much fun. I can't wait for next week, when they come back to stay with us once again. They stopped by on the way to Utah, and will be coming back our way soon (I hope) and we will once again rock the night away!!!!

Winter Break

I am so glad that it is winter break! It's so nice to have no homeowkr, to get a full 9 hours of sleep (or more) and just to store up on my brain power. I LOVE WINTER BREAK! :)

Slushy Water Bottles

Today at school during lunch I got a water bottle that wasn't completely frozen, but not pure liquid either. I call it a slushy water bottle. Anyways, I was cracking it, but it wouldn't crack. I figured it was because I still hadn't opened it. So I opened the lid and starting crushing. It was easier to crush it but still kinda hard. I was cracking the top part of it, which seemed to be especially hard. Before you know it, it exploided from all the pressure I had put on it!It was all over me and had splashed my friends as well as the back of the people sitting at the other table.  It was all over the table, and the floor. Luckily it didn't land in my food! Fortunately, my friend Lisa was in the lunch line getting a drink. Man oh man that was funny!!!!!

P.E.

This week and maybe longer, we as a gym class are doing weights. They are quite hard, and I'm VERY sore, but it will be worth it when I have AWESOME guns. BANG! (Left) BANG! (Right) We are keeping a journal on what we do this week, and then will have to type it all up and turn it in. Papers, in P.E. It's like Book Reports in Geography!!! Anyways, I did benhcpress. 3 sets of 8 at 45 POUNDS!!!!! I was so proud of myself. I also did something else that was SPECTACULAR! I did squats, but only 1 set of 8. (Squats are when you squat up and down while holding a 45 pound bar on you shoulders. MAN THAT WAS HARD! My legs are SO sore!!!! I can't wait to see and feel the results. 

Snowboarding

Debate: Book Reports

What is you opinion on book reports in Geography. I for one think that they are ridiculous. If you want book reports, be an English teacher! Geography is not for book reports, it's about the world, mapping, history of the area, names of countries, stuff like that. If you want us to read a book, assign it as homework and then have a test on it. Book reports are for English. (Please comment on the subject.)

Devils and Demons

I'm so exicted! Today is "Devils and Demons" (The night before Halloween). I can't wait! I think I'm gonna stay up til' midnight tonight. This is going to be so much fun. I can't believe Halloween is TOMMOROW! I'm going to have so much fun, just like I did at Fall Fest. Fall Fest was so much fun! We ate a spagetti dinner with lemonade, brownies, and salad. It was pretty good. After dinner, we threw pies at Mrs. Dicksteen (The English teacher), Mr. Hageman (The other English teacher), and Mr. Finnestead (The principal).  Once the pie throwing was done, we went to the gym for the dance, which was 2 hours long. My friends and I danced and danced, until the DJ annouced that the dance was coming to an end. That night was SO much fun! Can't wait for next year's Halloween Fall Fest. YIPEE!!!

Snow Days

Wednesday and Thursday were AWESOME! I went sledding over and over with my friends and family. We even took Rex! The snow outside got up to 24 inches!!! It was crazy. Anyways, I loved it!

Debate: Favoritism

I have a complaint about favoritism. So, have you noticed how this month, cool things have been happening? Like "Hop-tober" or "Wiz-tober" or "Rock-tober". But do you ever see "Wiz-uary" for January or "Rock-vember" for November? No, you just see October mixed in with another word. I think this is quite unfair to the rest of the months, don't you think? My foot hurts!

My foots hurts today because first, I hurt my foot in addition to it just being sore, and then I had to run the mile yesterday during P.E. I got 12 minutes even because of my foot, and so I got a D for the "assignment". My foot is still hurting, but I'm gonna have to use it anyways when I should be icing it... :(

Birthdays!!!

My friend Leah's sister and her mom and her aunt had their birthday on Oct. 2 and Leah had hers on Oct. 5. Today is my friend Izzy's birthday and yesterday was my friend Maddison's birthday. My friend Anya's birthday is coming up soon too! It's Oct. 23rd. Then my friend Madeline's birthday is in March, just like mine and Dr. Seus. She actually shares her birthday with Dr. Seus, which is the 2nd. I guess Dr Seus, Madeline and I are all loners... well sorta :)

Did you know I'm in computer class right now? I usually get 0-10 minutes before class to fiddle on the computer depending on how early we get there, but today is a free-day so I can check email and post on my blog. I decided to do my blog. By the way, today is the last day of our quarter. One down, three to go!

Ticket-to-Ride

My mom and I played Ticket-to-Ride today... along with Ben, and it was so much fun! For those of you who do not know what Ticket-to-Ride is, it's a board game where you "travel" from city to city in the US. You have cool little trains to! Anyways, it's a REALLY fun game. Farm Town and Mafia Wars

Last week I was also introduced to two new games that I love. They're called Farm Town and Mafia Wars. You can only play them if you have a facebook. 1st Adventure of this Summer

Wow! I haven't blogged for quite a while. I've just been so busy with my friend Madeline. She got to come over for a whole week! We got to do lots of things. First we signed up for a program at the library for teens. You choose tons of books that would hold you for 8 hours and after you have read them all you go to the library and log your hours. Once you've read 8 hours you get a free paperback book. The library who gets the most hours logged gets a crazy stuffed cow for the teens area. I have read 7 hours so far. My friend and I checked out 5 books. Four of them were books that we each had a copy of and the other one was one that we got for our own interest that we wanted to read by ourselves. It was so much fun! The books we got together were "Chicken soup for the Preteens Soul", "Dead Girls don't write letters" by Gale Giles, "Sweet Sixteen Princess" by Meg Cabot & "Peaches" by Judi Lynn Anderson. The book I got for myself was "Poseur" by Rachel Maude. Madeline got "Throwing Stones" by Kristi Collier.

My Dog's 'Do

At http://animal.discovery.com/tv/groomer-has-it/pimp-your-pooch/pimp-your-pooch.html, I got to choose a dog, position it, choose a celebrities 'do and then position it on the dog's face. I named my dog Jenny. Isn't it weird?

Cinnamon Disks and Peppermints

Right now we have a bowl in the Living Room filled with Cinnamon Disks and Peppermints. I love having them out for when ur bored and you need something "tasteful" to do. Our family is big on cinnamon hot candies like Hot Tamales, Cinnamon Bears and Cinnamn Disks. All of our family except for Jake, loves all of these kind of candies. The peppermints are just for getting rid of bad breath. I love all the candy we have. It makes you appreciate it so much more when you can actually taste it. :)

Etsy

My mom and I are going to be opening a business doing jewelry. This is going to be a summer job and who knows, we might end up doing it longer but I will have school so I won't be doing as much. I am so excited to be doing this with my mom! She used to work with All About Beads, but she stopped so we have a TON of extra beads. Now these aren't just those cheap kid beads. These are the nice, fancy, high quality beads. Like the ones you see in those expensive bracelets you find at the jewelry stores. (More details will be posted later.)

Farm at Tomahawk

On our camping trip at Tomahawk, we got to go to there farm. They had tons fo farm animals that we got to touch and hold. They even had Llama's but they were far away so we didn't get to take pictures of them and stuff. But we did get to hold the chickens and pet the horses, goats, and the donkey. Mess Hall

So, up in Tomahawk, we had a lunch room or “mess hall”. They had such good food there. They even had this salad apple that you passed around. if your group didn’t have it, you had to wait for the next group to pass it to you. I thought this was smart because it prevented having the salad bar all crowded. I mean, the groups were big enough already, why add another? Anyways, we cleaned up after ourselves. We had this place where the jugs went called the “Lovely Window” It was kinda funny :) I also liked having all the nice staff around you. The lunch lady and ALL of her assistants were VERY nice. I loved eating there! It was all delicious, the breakfast AND the dinner. They didn’t serve lunch because they served brunch instead! We got to snack instead! Anyways, here are some pictures of the lunch room…

Scary Stories

So, since we sold so many Girl Scout Cookies, we got enough to stay at Tamahawk, a camp for Girl Scout troops. We stayed at the Totem Pole cabin and boy did we have fun! We played games and told scary stories. We were all scared out of wits! We had to have somebody come to the bathroom with you. Those stories should never have been told. But I must admit, I was the queen of the scary stoires. I had so many and they were all pretty scared. But at least these ones didn't really happen. They had some that had actually happened and that's what scared us most!

Wheel of Fortune

I'm watching Wheel of Fortune right now, and it is awesome! I love that show! Have you ever seen anybody win the big prize yet. I would love to see that happen. I want to go play on that some day. Wouldn't it be cool to see me on that winning big? I think that would be cool. So anyways, do you like watching Wheel of Fortune?

Email

So, my email was getting a little crowded, so I deleted a whole bunch of them. I got that feeling that you get when you clean out your house and get rid of all of the junk you have. Anyways, I thought I would blog about this because I just love that feeling. By the way, I didn't get rid of all of my emails, just most of them that I have stopped being emailed on. Some people just don't know how to reply so they make more and more emails for me and it takes up to much space. Besides, it's nice to get an almost clean start :)

Art

My friends and I entered an art contest and won first place with our drawing. We got certificates and a $15 gift card to Barnes and Noble. I gave mine to my mom because I already had Twilight and thought that was all I needed. Anyways It was so much fun! The part I liked the most was doing it with my friends. They are so cool to hang out with :) (I'm the one wearing the orange shirt)

Hello Everyone!

Hey guys. check the time out. Yeah, I woke up REALLY early to go to the gym! I got a membership for my birthday and now wake up at 5:20 to go to the gym in the morning. I go with my mom, dad and Indar. Did you know that the gym has a pool? They have it all year long so you never really miss the pool. It's nice to know that when there is a delay in the opening of our pool, we as in my mom, dad, and Indar can head over to that pool. Ben and Jacob aren't old enough for the pool. Plus, about waking up early, I just found out that apparently my alarm clock is about and hour early so instead of waking up at 5:20, I woke up at about 4:20! I am so mad!

Request Already?

I have already gotten a request for what pictures to post once I get to 100 posts. They would like me to post 8 nature pictures and have one of them be a cherry blossom. Who thinks that would be a cool thing to celebrate with?

As I said...

So, as I said before, every time I reach a number like seventy I will show you an awesome nature picture. I haven't gotten any requests so here it is on the left. So you guys like this. It's a humpback whale's tail. I think humpback whales are such majestic animals. Agree with me?

So, I first got my inspiration to get a blog from my family. I have lots of family members who have blogs. My mom for instance, has a blog that is listed on the side of my blog. Then her friend Megan is too. Same as my cousin Kenneth, my uncle James, my aunt Maria, my cousin Nikki, my cousin-in-law Mandi and my friend Anya. You guys should check out their backgrounds. They are AWESOME!

Cup-o-Noodles

Sure Anya, go on, laugh! So, for lunch today I had some really good cup-o-noodles. My mom made them for me. As I was eating them, I thought of Anya, one of my friends at school. My friends and family think that the way that Anya eats her noodles is so funny. She rolls her tongue over and over like a propeller, sucking the noodles in her mouth. Jacob will just sit there and laugh and laugh. He finds it so funny and then Anya does her little "Geez, you're so mean. Stop tourmenting me!" look which makes Jake laugh even more. Anyways, that's the lates thought of mine. But trust me, there's more coming :)

Do you ever ask yourself if you look at the glass half empty or half full? I was thinking about it and I thought, well, lots of people just say that they look at the glass half full, but really, do they? So, after reading this, think about it. Do you really look on the bright side of everything every time? I bet you that you don't always do that. But hey, that's just a thought. I can assure you that I don't. Honesty, I don't like admitting it, but I do look at the glass half empty sometimes.

Chores really pay!

So, today for chores, one of my jobs was to clean my tornado-hit room. Anywyas, as I was cleaning I came across my dresser that had some kind of pull or interest towards me, so I started cleaning it. As I moved my 12 books from the book shelf, I found my 20 dollar bill!!! Me, being a complete unorganized person, had lost $80 already. I lost my wallet that had $40 in it and then my 2 $20 bills had gone missing. Well, I guess 1 down, 3 to go!

So, if it's that easy...

If it's so easy to get a whole bunch of posts, then I might as well set my OFFICIAL goal to 100 because that's all the posts that it will show on a page. Anymore and the old ones will start to go away. Hurry and read or you might not get to read them all because they will disappear :) Any ways, when I've accomplished the goal of 100 posts I will show you lots of nature pictures. Leave a comment on how many you would like to see. You can also leave requests of what you want to see in the nature pictures.

So, you know how I said that I wanted to have 60 posts by the end of the weekend? Well, this will be 61 posts! I think I will make it a tradition that every time I pass a number like 50, 60, 70 or 80 I show you a cool picture of nature. As you can see, I've already posted it! Like it? It is called "Frangipani Flowers". I got it off my dad's pictures. It actually came with this program or something because it's called "Sample Pictures".

Do you ever...

Do you ever have that time where you were talking with a friend about how you still have chocolate from last Halloween and then suddenly, you're talking about buff and strong guys you know. I find that so weird. My friend and I were actually talking about that and then suddenly, the subject changes to fluffy white bunnies. I don't know how you do it. Chocolate, to buff guys, to cute, fluffy bunnies. Weird, right?

Clapping Apples?

My brother came over and told me to sing something, so I did. Then, he starts clapping his hands that are holding two slices of apples! He starts chanting"A jolly good show, mate!" In his attempt to have an accent. (Not working) Anyways, I thought that was kinda funny and I thought I should inform you of what's new in our nut-house :)

Followers

So, I was looking at my blog when I came across this box that said followers. I was wondering if any of you guys knew how to become a follower. I just don't get it! I would really like to be a follower but I can't find out how! If you have any information please take this advise..

My present

My present to my mother was a bunch of coupons. You know, home-made ones that say one free job, one free massage, one free meal and stuff like that. She actually used one already and had me teach my brother how to clean the glass back-door and how much cleaner to use. I think that I'll just recycle them and give them to her again next mother's day. It could be like a tradition. Plus, I think I will have all of the children do hand prints on separate pieces of paper and we can compare them every time. What do you think about that?

The Home-Made Stuff

A couple days ago I asked my mom what she wanted from all three of us. She said all she really wanted was something we made and that she could keep forever so I decided to put our hand prints in paint on a big piece of paper. Even I'm proud of it! It was a good idea anyways. She appreciates it and now she will actually have our hand prints. I was even thinking, this is probably the last year that they will actually fit on a big paper like that :)

Card

The singing card we got my mom at King Sooper's was this pretty one that had a pink flower on it and when you opened it, it played this thing we had recorded in it, "Hi mom. (I said that) Happy Mother's Day! (Ben) We love you very much! (Jacob)" Then it started to sing You'll be in my Heart. (The song in Tarzan) She loved it! I loved watching her face light up when she heard us and then the song. Happy Mother's Day, Mom

Flowers and Chocolate :)

Just what a girl needs! Chocolates and flowers :) I'm glad my mom liked them. We have even tried some of them. The one she let me try was a Roman Nougat. It was milk chocolate on the outside with white chocolate drizzled over it. The inside had this weird pink stuff in it. It may have looked weird, but it was delightful. I want to try these two other ones called Raspberry Caramel and Strawberry Cheesecake. Those are chocolates I tell you, CHOCOLATES. Weird, right?

Breakfast

For breakfast on this wonderful morning for mother's, Ben and I made my mom a special breakfast consisting of blueberry pancakes, hash browns, and a two-egg omelet. I loved staring and smelling her breakfast. It must have tasted even better. I asked her if it tasted good and she said "It was very good. Thanks!" I'm glad she liked it. She completely deserved it :)

Mother's Day Morning

Mother's day is so much fun! My dad took us to King Sooper's and we got her lots of cool stuff for mother's day! Such as flowers, chocolates, licorice, a card that records and sings, and lots of home-made pictures and mother's day cards. I loved this morning. I even woke up early and made breakfast for her :)

Did you know...

Did you know that you can find the recipe for Taco Bell Hot Sauce in a cook book. Here it is, but I don't know if it's exactly the same. I bet it's a little different. It's another one from my aunt :)

Taco Bell Hot Sauce

One 6 oz can tomato paste
3 cups water
2 tsp cayenne pepper
1 ½ tablespoons chili powder
1 ½ teaspoons salt
1 teaspoon cornstarch
2 teaspoons distilled vinegar
1 tablespoon minced dried onion
1 tablespoons canned jalapeno slices

Combine tomato paste and water over medium heat. Stir until smooth

Add cayenne pepper, chili powder, salt, cornstarch, vinegar, and dried onion. Stir well.

Chop jalapenos very fine … food processor okay … don’t puree. Add to mixture.

Bring to boil and stir 3 minutes. Let stand until cool and refrigerate. Will last 1-2 months. Makes 3 ½ cups.

(Anya and I have each chugged a packet of hot sauce from taco bell. Now we can do it more often and do it with more friends.)

This is another recipe from my aunt

Reese's Squares
Great for a no-power treat

1 ½ cups graham cracker crumbs
3 ½ cups powdered sugar
1 ½ cups peanut butter
1 cup melted butter
1 12 oz bag milk chocolate chips

Combine graham cracker crumbs, sugar and peanut butter – mix well.
Blend in melted butter until well combined. Press mixture evenly into a 9 x 13 pan.
Melt chocolate. Spread over peanut butter mixture.
Chill until set, but not solid.

Sounds good to me. Try it out and tell me if
it's any good. I bet it will taste delightful :)

Count Down

I was looking on my mom's blog and I noticed she has a countdown. I was thinking it would be cool to make a countdown for New Moon, the movie, to come out. (November 20th!) I think I will so look for it tomorrow. It will be up :)

I've been Checking

I've been checking Anya's blog lately to see if she has gotten off yet. I think she has! But as I was reading, she has a post saying her goal is to get to 50 posts. She is already at 44. Apparently she is happy that she only has 6 left to post. I would too so I don't blame her. (You can leave me comments if you think this competition is weird or something. Just state your opinion!)

Anya's Blog

I just checked Anya's blog and she posted random things like "Oh, Sabrina is three more ahead of me" "Now it's only 2!" "One more and I'm tied" "Yeah I've caught up with Sabrina" "I beat Sabrina. Gotta keep working!" She is so weird.

Coupons

For one of my mother's day presents, I made coupons that said Free Chore, Free Massage, Free favor, Free Breakfast, Free Hug and Free Kiss. I thought she would appreciate them. We'll just have to wait and see :)

After

After I got dropped off by Melany's mom I went downstairs to help make a present from my brothers and I to my mom for mother's day. Instead of doing the I heart mom thing, We all did our hand print in paint and wrote our name and the year underneath it. We each got to choose our own color so I chose my favorite color, green. (Verde in Spanish)

Lucky Charm

So, at the soccer game that I went to with Melany, I was told by tons of the parents and lots of the team players that I must have been their lucky charm because they don't usually win. That made my day.

Soccer

Melany also took me to her soccer game. My friend Madeline was actually on that team so I got to cheer for both of them. Anyways, I got to pick up the ball when it came rolling out-of-bounds directly towards me. I thought that was so cool! Well anyways, they ended up ACTUALLY winning a game for only the second time of the season. After they did their good game complements to the other team, I played some soccer with them until Melany's mom called us in.

Singing

I went with my friend Melany to first, watch her performance. She is part of the Colorado Choir or something. She is AMAZING! Melany's voice is like a little angel singing out to the crowd. The songs they chose complemented her singing quite well. After that, we listened to little people sing, people in the group for Spanish singing and then a grand finale with them all singing Do Re Mi. (Do, a dear, a female dear.)

Back in the Competition!

I forgot!

I completely forgot. So, the reason I will be leaving is because I am going to a performance by my friend and then go to her soccer game. It's going to be a blast. Oh, there went the doorbell! Guess my rides here. BYE!

Mother's Day

I'm so excited for mothers day! I made my mom a really pretty, professional card with her materials and I've set up a really cool project for my brothers and I to do for her. We are going to use our hand prints and spell out (heart) U Mom. She says she wants something that she can keep forever that we hand make so we will HAND make this present. The thing that I'm doing separately is I'm making her some really cool coupons that say free hug, free massage, free chore, free meal and stuff like that. I think this is going to be the best one we've had yet!

My friend Anya and I are having this competition to see who can get the most posts up. It's really funny. I love competition with friends!

Chores

So, our family has finally put up job charts, and they take almost the whole day after school to do!!!! But I mean, $7 a week for that kind of stuff is fine with me. My chores are like sweeping and mopping the basement, I have to wash the dishes, clean the sink and take out the trash everyday, clean my room, bathroom , vacuum it, wash my laundry, water the plants and stuff like that.

The Wonderful Heat

I went outside today and just sat there, consuming all the day's wonderful heat. I'm so excited for summer! I love the heat and that there is no school! I love being able to sleep in every day and just have the heat and go swimming. Our neighborhood pool opens May 15, 2009, not that anyone is counting :) My dad says that the pool might open earlier if we have really nice, hot weather. The water has to be warm enough. I said, "Hey, the pool is for cooling down, not warming up!" His expression was hilarious.

Recipe for York Peppermint Patties

York Peppermint Patties

1 egg white
4 cup powdered sugar
1/3 cup light corn syrup
½ tsp peppermint oil or extract
Cornstarch for dusting

One 16-ounce bag semisweet chocolate chips

Beat egg white until stiff and forms peaks.

Slowly add powdered sugar while beating on medium

Add corn syrup and peppermint oil or extract. Knead mixture by hand until smooth dough.

Roll out dough with rolling pin (lightly dusted with cornstarch to ¼ inch thick. Cut out circles with biscuit cutter. Makes 20 – chill in refrigerator until set (about 45 minutes).

Melt chocolate chips in microwave. Drop each patty into chocolate and coat completely. Lift out using 2 forks and place on waxed paper. Chill until firm (about 30 minutes)

I LOVE York Peppermint Patties! ! ! ! I'm glad my aunt gave this to me :)

Turtles

I LOVE TURTLES!!! I think turtles are fascinating and just like me, they love the water. I think turtles just look cool in their color and shaping. Green is actually my favorite color of all colors. Lime green is the best but turtle green is cool too. I actually have a recipe for cookies called "turtle" cookies. I can get them later for those of you who would like to try them.(I"ll post them later. Don't go looking for it on the sides :)

Old Men

You know what, I love old men. They're just so cute I want to pinch their cheeks. Old men are usually so nice. With their white hair and their wrinkly skin, they're just so ADORABLE!!! Yeah, I know, I sound so weird but it's true, I think old men are so adorable. When I meet an unknown old man, I just smile and say "Hi" to him and he usually does the same. I mean, old men are so friendly.

Spelling

I finished my spelling work too. It is due Thursday, 5/7, and my words are based on embryology because we have gone over them because of our chicks that have mostly all hatched by now I assume. But anyways, the words are... avian, embryology, yolk, albumen, stomach, absorbtion, mineralization, development, beak, and wing. I divided them into syllables for my homework activity. I checked it with the Webster College Dictionary just to be sure.

10 consecutive days

Wednesday's homework is done too. Right now I'm doing my book club report on the book Stargirl by Jerry Spinelli. I'm doing it with my 4th grade buddy Renae. She is so funny. I'm glad I finished it and don't have to worry about it this weekend. Our class have set a goal to have our homework in for 10 consecutive days and if we do, we get to have a sleepover at the school. This is when the whole class that can make it get to stay on a Friday and have dinner and a sleepover AT SCHOOL and have breakfast in the morning on Saturday. We usually get picked up around 9:00-10:00 a.m. on Saturday. These are said to be quite fun for the students. The teachers, not so much.

My Poem

I did Tuesday's homework, a haiku, on milk and oreos. A haiku consists of 5 syllables, then 7, then 5.

It's so delicious (5 syllables)
That sweet creamy milk of mine (7 syllables)
Pour yourself a glass (5 syllables)

Oh no, again!!!!!

Rex got a hold of another Webkinz this morning!!! I don't get why he always goes for the eye. Luckily, we didn't have tears this time because Ben just doesn't really cry. This time instead of being an owl, he went for the eagle. I guess he just likes to take the birds' eye out of everything. Well lately, anyways. I can't believe he did that again!!! When will he learn?!?!? He's so funny!!!

Wake up Sunshine!!!

Rex was so funny this morning! So Jacob came down to just watch him in his kennel so Rex starts whining so loud and I wake up. I told Jacob to take him out of his kennel and go outside with him. So he does and he comes back and leaves Rex just sitting there so Rex comes to wake me up again. So he jumps on the bed and starts licking me. I wake up officially and then suddenly a few seconds after, my alarm clock goes off. I found that hilarious!!! As if he sensed it. I usually snooze my alarm clock :) Maybe he was trying to get me to ACTUALLY wake up on time. Now I won't be late to church!!!

PARTY! ! !

Tonight was so much fun!!! So, as I said previously, my mom and I went to Sara Miller's house to play games and talk. We were there for about 4 hours. Funny story, while we were all talking to each other I fell asleep because I guess eavesdropping just got very tiring. They had this really comfy couch, their house was warm and I was SO tired. I felt bad afterwards but they didn't seem to notice. All in all, I thought the night was wonderful, we even got leftovers on our licorice and caramel chocolate kisses. They are probably going to be gone tomorrow :)

Tacos!!!

We had tacos for dinner tonight and they were do GOOD!!! I love my dad's tacos and funny story, when he was in high school, he worked at Taco Bell so he has a good taste in tacos!!! I think sitting together as a family, eating tacos and telling each other cool things they did at school or did at work is a great thing to do every now and then to just be with family and talk with each other. Especially while having TACOS!!!! Soon my mom and I will be heading to Sara Miller's house (a nice lady from church) and playing games. More on that in my next article!!! :)

Settlers of Catan - Cities and Knights

Have you ever heard of the game, Settlers of Catan-Cities and Knights? Well, if you haven't it's a really fun game where you build a compete against opponents to build the biggest civilization. You have to build things with your harvested resources and trade with your opponents. My family and I had a 3 hour blast this evening playing it with each other. Jacob didn't play but Indar, my dad, my mom, Ben, and I played it together. Ben was on my mom's team but other than that, we played on our own against each other. My mom ended up 1st, Indar was 2nd, my dad came 3rd and I was dead last :( But still, we had SUCH a fun time!!! I can't wait to do it again when Jacob can actually play!!!

Oh, no!!!

Rex got a hold of Jacob's newest Webkinz stuffed animal (owl) and apparently it had been his "favorite" one. Rex being Rex chewed and chewed, but luckily, we caught him early so he only poked an eye out, literally. Jacob didn't recover for a while. He cried and cried and cried until Mom came home and fixed Noctowl (knocked-owl). Noctowl will have to have an eye patch until he recovers according to Dr. Jacob :) He's so cute!!!

Disappointment

What a disappointment! They have chosen Dakota Fanning to play Jane in the movie, New Moon. I think they should have chosen someone else to play Jane because Dakota Fanning just doesn't fit at all!!! (In my opinion) But tough luck I say, because she's already been chosen and I want to hopefully watch it when it first comes out on November 20th. I can't wait to see it even if Dakota Fanning is going to be playing Jane :(

I completely forgot!!! So, if you haven't already noticed, I have an love, no an obsession for... wait for it... TWILIGHT!!! Not to mention New Moon, Eclipse, and Breaking Dawn. Stephenie Meyer is a hero to me!!! I love her writing not only because they're great ideas, but her books are hooking and really capture they're readers. Now if i was to go on this article would be too long and you wouldn't care to reading it, so I'll stop there. But yes, Twilight is my obsession right now. Like the quote on top of my blog, that's from Twilight, I have Twilight Links and I have watched Twilight 46 times, literally, I've been counting. But hey, that's just me, the Twilight freak :)

Good News

Good news!!! So, about the chicks, we actually have TWO chicks hatched and are now drying their wings. OMG they are the cutest little chicks ever!!! Almost all the rest are now pipping and moving quite actively if you ask me. Over the weekend all of the ones that have survived will be hatched and we will be able to take some of the chicks out of the incubator. They have to dry their feathers for at least 24 hours. Then they will begin to get hungry and we will put them in our tubs and live there until one of the other upper elementary (4th-6th) classmate's parents come to get the chicks. (This parent actually has some chickens she's raising.

Science

At school, we are doing an experiment for science. We are raising chicks!!! We got some brand new chicken eggs and an incubator and started experimenting!!! One of the brown eggs we've been raising for about 20 days is starting to pip or break out of it's shell with it's beak!!! I'm so excited to go back to school and see if he's progressed anymore. I sure hope it has!!!

Tae Kwon Do

I'm taking Tae Kwon Do!!! I find that it's a great way to exercise, focus your mind, strengthen your body and teach you great self-defense. Since Tae Kwon Do is from Korea, we have a teacher, Master Kim, that is actually from Korea along with his assistant, Master Jin. Both of them are very nice and VERY LOUD, but that's actually just their style of teaching. (For the first couple of days it startled me that they were yelling at me but that's when I found out that that's just what they do :) Plus, part of their discipline is making you do push-ups, PUSH-UPS, when you are late or have been told over and over to do something. For that very reason, I've had to strengthen my arms up so I could actually do 5-10 push-ups :)
